Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. (Isaiah 55:2) The Bread of Life never expires, never goes stale. While listening to music while I write is often too distracting for me, musical references have often found their way into my works (either just titles, songs out of copyright, or allusions that don’t directly quote copyrighted materials.)
