Christ's Glory, Not Mine

Trust in and Exalt God Always

Abba Father,

Sorrow comes, you are God. Happiness comes, you are God. Anger comes, you are God. Peace comes, you are God. Poverty comes, you are God. Riches come, you are God. Pain comes, you are God. Pleasure comes, you are God.

Whatever our physical or emotional condition, you are God, and we are your children, the sheep of your pasture, and you hold us in your hand. Nothing can separate us from your love. May we love you and serve you, and pour our hearts out to you today, whether we have joy or sorrow to lift up to you. May we trust in you and your word, for you know the plans you have for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us a future and a hope. Show us how to exalt you no matter what our state.

Whether you are leading us beside still waters this day, or guiding us through the valley of the shadow of death, may we listen for your voice and follow the way you show us. Grant peace to the hurting and the abased heart, and gratitude to the joyous and the abounding heart, that we might not forget you.

In Jesus’s name I pray, Amen.
